This book is my soul y’all. The pairing wasn’t what I was expecting and that seemed to make it more difficult and rawer and worth the journey overcoming all odds than similar women lovin women stories I’ve read. It’s a puny navigator in over her head but sticking to her internal values (and compass) to make the best of what she has in front of her. This resonates deeply with me. Great world. Great story. The romance is just an added bonus and wasn't central for me, but adds to the drama and page turning. Really hard to put down. Highly highly highly recommend for nautically inclined boat lesbians all me bloomin’ life.
