If every human being lived life the way Dr George Washington Carver did, we would live in a utopia. He was a humble man who was born a slave, came to walk with God at a very young age through nature, and spent his entire life trying to create better lives for poor, black farmers in the south. He worked his way through school, sometimes poor excuses for schools, and educated himself much of the time. Even at the height of his fame, he had to endure racial practices and prejudices, which he did with humility, charm and humor. I learned that I didn’t know very much at all about this wonderful man. This was one of the most enjoyable books I have read this year.
